What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Our friendly team of hearing specialists will help you navigate through your journey to better hearing. To expedite the process in our office, you can fill out your patient forms prior to your appointment.
- First, we begin with a conversation to get to know you and go over your intake form with you. We want to get to know you, where you are having trouble hearing, and what your goals are.
- Then we will perform an ear exam by looking at your eardrum and ear canal. If you have a build-up of earwax that is affecting your hearing, we can remove that in our office.
- After we have examined your ears, then we will begin the hearing evaluation. The hearing evaluation is quick and simple. We will assess your ability to hear different sounds at various frequencies and how well you can hear speech in noise and quiet.
- We will go over the results of your hearing evaluation with you and answer any questions you may have. If you could be helped by hearing aids, we will recommend some options that we believe will best help you.

"The staff are knowledgeable, kind and empathetic. As an example my mom has dementia. We arrived early and she was confused and became panicked. The receptionist seeing her asked if she could help. She asked the audiologist if we could get in early. The Audiologist was able to assist her earlier and worked with care to ensure she felt safe. I feel fortunate that Spencer Audiology serveโs Whatcom County and highly recommend them."
