Shonie Hannah

Shonie Hannah, M.A., CCC-A, FAAA

Audiologist

As early as age 14, Shonie Hannah knew her calling was to help people. She planned to be a speech pathologist but discovered audiology was her true passion. Shonie earned her bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from Washington State University and her master’s in audiology from Western Washington University.

A professor had nurtured her passion for pediatric audiology, and she soon found herself working with children and treating hearing loss as a clinical audiologist at a small ENT practice. It was fulfilling because she got to not only connect with people, but also be part of their hearing journey. In her 31 years in ENT practice, she was a dispensing audiologist, audiology supervisor, created and managed the hearing aid department, and evaluated difficult-to-test and special-needs patients.

She loves Spencer Audiology Clinic because she has never experienced this level of support from colleagues or this degree of appreciation from patients. The whole team has the same mission — to provide each patient with the best individualized patient care and service throughout their hearing journey.

Shonie and her husband live in rural Whatcom County, enjoy being outdoors, and love working in the yard. They enjoy biking, golfing, hiking, and traveling. Shonie personally loves to read, bake, cook, and hang with friends. They have three adult children and three grandchildren.

Savannah Burdick, Audiology Assistant at Spencer Audiology Clinic

Savannah Burdick

Audiology Assistant

Savannah Burdick earned her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Washington University. While in college she originally wanted to pursue Speech Pathology, however after working on her studies and having a close family member with hearing loss, she realized audiology was her calling.

For the past seven summers, Savannah has worked in Alaska as a commercial fisherman. She also has valuable experience working in the food and beverage industry. Now, with her degree and course experience in audiology, she enjoys being a part of someone’s journey towards better hearing. Her favorite aspect of the field is when a patient comes in with a problem and the team can fix it in the same day, leaving the patient feeling satisfied and hearing again.

Outside of work, Savannah enjoys reading, cooking, camping, gardening, and spending time with herfamily, friends, and cat.

How We Give Back to Our Community

We value community. Our owner and audiologist, Pam Spencer, is a member of the Hearing Loss Association of Whatcom County and is a part of the Western Washington University Hearing Clinic. Our team regularly visits nursing homes in Bellingham and the surrounding communities to provide hearing services for those who can not make it to our office. We also mentor students from Western Washington University Au.D. program.

Pam has done mission trips to Guatemala to provide hearing aids to children for the past 12 years. It is an absolutely amazing experience seeing children hear speech for the first time and then seeing how they are thriving in their families, at school, and in their communities.
